Liquidation of Consequences of the Chernobyl accident. Ferrocyn Filter Cleaning Milk from 137Cs

ABSTRACT

Purpose: Retrospective-chronological analysis of the evidence on the development and the results of field tests of ferrocyne milk filters from 137Cs in the areas contaminated with radionuclides after the Chernobyl accident.

Results: In 1988-1990 years ferrocyne filters were tested in 1556 private households in Belarus, Russia and Ukraine. Filter Prussian Blue fibrous material decrease the concentration of 137Cs in milk up to 98.3 %.

Conclusion: Designed ferrocyne filters let you receive practically cleaned milk from radioactive cesium.
