ABSTRACT

Purpose: Analysis of the current state of the problem of biological action of tritium and its compounds.

Results: The published data and materials of their own studies on the kinetics of metabolism, biological effects of tritium oxide, tritium gas, tritium-labeled compounds, organically bound tritium obtained in experiments on animals. Much attention is given to new data on the RBE of tritium oxide, evaluation of the biological effectiveness of organically bound tritium compounds.

Conclusion: It is concluded that the need to increase research on biological effects of organically bound tritium, due to the limited scientific data required for the valuation of the compound.

Key words: tritium, organically bounds tritium, biological effects, the kinetics, the relative biological effectiveness
