ABSTRACT
Purpose: To formulate an approach to creating a reference database using a model database of ambient dose equivalent rate (ADER) values as an example, to support the selection of a method for interpolating measured ADER values at reference points in an urban environment (Sosnovy Bor).
Material and methods: The reference database of ADER values epresents a “pseudo-continuous” ADER field on a regular grid (100×100 points). The field is generated in Blender 5.0 within the framework of the dynamic optical model (DOM) of interaction of ionizing radiation with matter as a superposition of three extended sources that form multidirectional gradients and local maxima, taking into account the shielding effect of urban buildings. Radiance is digitized at detection points using a Blender 3D Python script, and the values are saved in a CSV/Excel file along with the point coordinates.
Results: The procedure for generating a complex ADER field is described. Surfer v.25 maps and the final rendering in Blender 3D are used for visual verification and presentation of results. The proposed approach enables controlled generation of spatial ADER fields, taking into account shielding by structures within the DOM paradigm. A comparison of interpolation methods (IDW, ordinary kriging, RBF, etc.) with the calculation of errors relative to the reference field is planned.
Conclusion: The proposed approach for generating ADER distributions across various sites (urban areas or industrial sites), based on the use of DOM within Blender 3D, enables the creation of radiation situation (RS) maps from any ionizing radiation (IR) sources or their combinations. The selection of an interpolation method should begin with determining the optimal set of reference points for RS monitoring and be performed on these optimal sets.
